Is on-hand stock always available?

No. On-hand quantity may include allocations, quarantine, damage, expiry, repairables or stock held for another purpose.

Should expected returns reduce a purchase order?

Only with caution. Uninspected or uncertain returns are possible supply. Count approved serviceable returns separately from expected returns.

Does a stocktake explain a shortage?

A stocktake identifies the difference. A review or investigation is needed to determine whether the cause was timing, location, unit, damage, transaction error, shrinkage or something else.

Is every negative variance theft?

No. Theft is one possible cause among receiving errors, misplaced stock, damage, spoilage, scanning mistakes, unrecorded issues and unit-of-measure errors.

Can a spreadsheet manage inventory?

Sometimes. It may suit a small, controlled operation with few users and locations. More complex operations may need stronger transaction, status, audit and access controls.

What is the difference between shrinkage and shrinkflation?

Inventory shrinkage is stock loss. Shrinkflation describes a product package becoming smaller while its price stays similar or increases.

Does the site recommend inventory software?

No. The site explains requirements and controls without ranking vendors or maintaining constantly changing product comparisons.

Are the fuel, aviation and dangerous-material pages operating instructions?

No. They stay at a high-level inventory and documentation perspective. Use current official rules and qualified personnel for handling, transport, maintenance and safety.

Where does calculator data go?

The calculators run in the browser. They do not submit inventory data to this site. Printing or saving results is controlled by the user’s browser and device.

Can these tools guarantee no stockouts or losses?

No. They make assumptions visible and support planning. Demand, supplier performance, quality, records and physical events can differ from estimates.
